In the Speech events, students compete in areas of public speaking, drama, acting, reading, and interpretation. Events include:

Interpretive events:

• Dramatic Performance
• Duo Interpretation
• Oral Interpretation of Literature (Prose and Poetry)
• Children’s Literature

Public Speaking events:

• Original Oratory
• Declamation

Limited Preparation events:

• Extemporaneous Speaking
• Impromptu
